We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and hands-on Postdoc in translational oncolytic Viro-/Immunotherapy. In this science-focused position, you will be an integral driver of a translational science hub de-convoluting early anti-cancer research concepts.
Tasks & responsibilities
- Investigate mechanisms of actions of oncolytic viruses by extending existing and developing new human and murine flow cytometry assays
- Characterize virus particles by implementing a new flow virometry assay
- Optimize methods for in vivo expansion and activation of immune cells and oncolytic viruses
- Self-motivated knowledge management in the field (based on scientific network and deep literature oversight) to propose and implement innovative methods and evaluation concepts
- Interact and communicate proactively within a highly dynamic external research network including partners from academia, industry, and the local clinical surgery departments (including presentations of the project work at scientific conferences)
Requirements
- PhD, PharmD, or MD/PhD in Immunology, Biology, Biochemistry, Molecular Medicine, Virology, or a related field with at least 4 years of experience
- Hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge in basic and advanced flow cytometry is a must
- Experience in small particle analysis/flow cytometry is a strong asset
- Experience working with patient samples is a plus
- Sound knowledge of cancer immunology, cancer immunotherapy and ex vivo assays is preferred
- Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and clear communication skills are essential to integrate in a multi-disciplinary, lively, and flexible team
- Evidence of scientific rigor as documented by first author peer-reviewed publications
- Fluency in English, both spoken and written; German language skills would be highly appreciated (otherwise willingness to learn German)

The minimum gross annual salary according to the collective bargaining agreement for this position is EUR 70.000 (full time), although the actual salary is based on your technical skills and personal competencies as well as your professional experience.
